If you’re intolerant to artificial fragrances, trying to reduce your toxic load, or just super crunchy, here are some awesome cleaning products that are low in harsh chemicals, but high in effectiveness (links down below): Force of Nature Disinfectant I’ve always wanted to get on the DIY natural disinfectant train, but many of them are vinegar based, which is a scent that drives me crazy. Force of Nature is an ionized cleaner you can make from water and small packets of vinegar-salt solution that you put in an ionizer (which makes you feel like you’re doing alchemy or something) to make supercharged pool water. It is a powerful disinfectant devoid of fragrances, harsh chemicals, and the lingering smells that come with it. It’s the simplest cleaner you could possibly buy --only two ingredients-- and only one reusable bottle, and you can buy the solution packets separately.

What it is: A safe, water-based disinfectant to clean up everyday surfaces like counters, handles, and child toys What it isn't: a strong degreaser(little messes are ok), a soap scum remover, or a cleaner for any mess that requires heavy scrubbing (it doesn’t lather).

Nellies Laundry Soda An odorless powder with natural ingredients, it removes dirt from your fabrics, and that’s literally it. It is effective with zero fragrance, brighteners, or softeners whatsoever, meaning that your clothes, sheets, and blankets come out crisp and clean. It comes in an adorable vintage tin and is good for about 100 loads of laundry, but a wide range of sizes are available.

What it is: a simple, all-purpose detergent for laundry free of any allergens, preservatives, or fragrances. What it isn't: a fabric conditioner or softener. In fact, I recommend this on things you'll put in the dryer, as air drying can leave laundry a bit stiff, so you may want to pair this with your favorite fabric softener depending on what you’re washing.

Regency Gold Wood Polish An old-school wood polish, it does have a weird smell, but it’s not prohibitively strong and serves as a conditioner for your wooden furniture. It’s like lotion for your wood (get your head out of the gutter, you hooligan!), adding to and preserving moisture to prevent warping and drying out. It keeps furniture shiny and in good condition, without the unnecessary stuff. Make sure you don’t add too much, as it can leave the furniture a little oily and attract dust. I use it every other week, and in between I just use a hand duster on my furniture to clean the surface dust.

What it is: an emulsified oil cleaner/conditioner made for wood furniture that nourishes and polishes it. What it isn't: something that will remove deep stains, a polish for polyurethane covered wood (if the furniture is completely non-porous, this won’t do anything for it except leave oily residue)

Earth Brite Cleaner Unpainted and non porous surfaces will be glowing with this stuff. It’s a clay based mild abrasive, so it polishes while it cleans. It has no fragrance added, but they do have lavender and citrus scents, and my stainless steel loves it!

What it is: a mild abrasive cleaner and polish for unpainted metal surfaces such as stainless steel. What it isn't: gentle enough for wood, plastic, or nonstick pan surfaces. Nonporous materials like porcelain, metal, and glass only!

So Shiny!!!!
